Quote
"Compared to what we ought to be, we are only half awake. We are making use of only a small part of our physical and mental resources. Stating the thing broadly, the human individual thus lives far within his limits. He posesses powers of various sorts which he habitually fails to use." - Professor William James

WHY: Funding for Alzheimer’s care and research is now more critical than ever.
o As many as 5.3 million Americans are living with Alzheimer’s disease and that figure is expected to grow to as many as 16 million by 2050.
There are 294,000 right here in the Delaware Valley
o There are as many as 10 million people in the U.S. caring for someone with Alzheimer’s;
o 19 percent of those caregivers are between the ages of 18 and 34.
o Surveys show that 18-34 year olds (65 percent) are just as likely as seniors (64 percent) to be concerned about themselves or a family member developing Alzheimer’s.
The Alzheimer’s Association has created QUASH, a completely new take on a fundraising event, to help raise money to support the organization’s mission of eliminating Alzheimer’s disease through the advancement of research; to provide and enhance care and support for all affected; and to reduce the risk of dementia through the promotion of brain health.
MEDIA: There will be interviews available with Philadelphia Eagle Linebacker Chris Gocong, NBC 10’s Monique Braxton, and Delaware Valley Chapter Director Special Events Kathryn DiSalvo as well as QUASH participants.

Asthma Walk
Ragini participated in the American Lung Association of PA's Asthma Walk this weekend – she joined Teva Pharmacuetical’s Team ProAir!
Each year, too many lives are lost to lung disease and this is your chance to walk, raise money and make an impact in their honor. By joining the Asthma Walk you are making the commitment to fight lung disease so everyone can breathe easier- including you!
Over 35 million Americans suffer from lung disease and of those, 22 million suffer from asthma, a treatable yet fatal disease. Nearly 4,000 Americans die needlessly each year from the complications of asthma. That’s nearly 11 lives lost each day. With your support, the American Lung Association will continue to make an impact by funding research, education and advocacy.
